Learning more about who has a Money Buddy through comparisons with the general population.

Money Buddies where very fortunate to work with Dr. Simon McNair and Prof. Barbara Summers from the Centre for Decision Research, in March 2016

The report they wrote is still relevant today, with incredible insights into how having a “Money Buddy” in a persons life makes a great change.

To sum it up better the introduction reads:

“The aim of this research project was to investigate ways in which and the extent to which Money Buddies clients differ from the general population in terms of several key characteristics. Taking such an approach allows us to compare the average individual who contacts Money Buddies for financial assistance with the average individual in everyday life in an effort to highlight how they diverge in terms of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Ultimately, establishing where such differences lie can lead to insights into what types of advice or assistance might particularly benefit people who contact Money Buddies. On these grounds, the ultimate goal of the project was to highlight particular areas where Money Buddies might benefit from developing their support provision. The research focused on three particular categories of characteristics sociodemographic factors and recent life experiences; financial status indicators; and psychological factors.”
